Keith's usual five-day-shadow
shows clearly in this rare photo. His hair looks as if
it were cut with a knife a fork, atop the trademark Levene
Lip-Snarl, quintessential English rocker: lean, mean with
cheekbones that could cut a steak. Circa 1983 .
By the way,
speaking of the "vanguard of punk," it wasn't
a fashion statement; punk was born of no-hope in a grim,
jobless, "no future," poverty ridden UK. The safety pins
and leathers were to close holes in torn frocks and thrift-shop
cheapo gear. In the US it seemed to be an expensive fashion
statement. |
